Asia 2008

A cruise to several countries and stops in Asia

This month long trip visiting several countries, cities and towns in Asia started in February of 2008 and completed by the end of March. On this trip we visited Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, China, Taiwan and Korea. It was an amazing culinary trip as well. Barry tried many new foods, some that he was not to fond of, but still he tried. The sites and sounds of Asia are a must for everyone to experience. Crossing streets in any of these countries, with the exception of Japan, is an eye-opener. You literally take your life in your own hands. We looked for nuns who were crossing the road and crossed with them in Vietnam! We found our visit to Nagasaki very emotional but beautiful. The people there are unbelievably kind and peace-loving. We started the trip with a couple of days in Singapore and then onto Bangkok for a couple of days before boarding the ship NAUTICA (Oceania Cruises). At the end of the cruise we stayed a few days in Beijing to see all the great sites.

Because this trip was so extensive it will be broken into 3 segments.
